“I do everything for you, and this is what you do” is straight up some of the most manipulative and condescending bullshit a mother could say. And surprise surprise that her sister (aunt) is also a narcissist… As someone that used to be in this position, I live for the day you find your voice and ability to put them in their place. If they want to create drama in front of everyone they deserve to be shut tf down in front of everyone.

Like I deadass WOULD laugh in her face. Especially if you’re over 18. You can wear what you want to and make decisions for yourself. Your mother BOUGHT the dress and didn’t say shit then, you obliged her with the sweater- at this point she’s stirring the shit pot to be controlling tbh. And regardless of whatever issues she has it is absolutely childish and disrespectful of your aunt to bring it up in public in front of people whose business it isn’t.

I feel like dad has hardly anything to do with this. She’s only mad OP asked dad instead of her because she wants to find more things to leverage against OP to make her feel guilty when she has nothing to feel guilty about. Lol it’s funny bc my dad is also the atheist but we’re Jewish so just a different flavor of the same vibe. My dad has narcissistic tendencies but my mother is a flat out narc. I love to tell people I moved out of Texas cause it isn’t big enough for my mother and I to coexist in it🤣🤣
