i go to a little college in virginia and here, if you have a fridge they might open that, they’ll prob look at the stuff on top of your desk. I can’t imagine that they’ll open any drawers. but i feel pretty confident saying they’re definitely not gonna open any containers or boxes you have.

at my school if the school owns it they can look in it, and anything in plain sight. can’t open things you bought (ie storage ottomans, bags)

At my school they were only allowed to inspect “in plain sight,” they weren’t allowed to open drawers without asking. And you were allowed to say no if they did ask. My RA told us that we could say there’s personal items/sex toys/feminine hygiene/ANYTHING and decline the search. They can’t press unless they obtain a warrant. They also couldn’t look in laundry baskets or personal storage. One time i had a bottle of pink whitney, a mini airfryer, and a wax burner in my laundry basket😂😂

i recommend getting a small lock box. i got it my freshman year when i was going random and i wanted a safe place to keep my meds, but it would prob also be perfect for weed or sex toys or whatever you’re trying to hide😭

if you have something bigger and you’re worried about it, just put it under a t shirt in one of your drawers, i highly doubt they’ll even open the drawer in the first place tho
