“Your body is built for pregnancy why would you be scared of it” Oh I don’t know maybe bc women die from it, it changes my body for a long time (or sometimes permanently), and it results in me going through intense painful labor for hours 🤨

Fun fact! It’s more dangerous to be pregnant than a cop. 111 reported cop deaths out of 737k-850k (in 2025): 0.00013-0.00015 Between 27.6-106.3 deaths per 100k live births depending on race and circumstances: 0.000276-0.00106. Even th most privileged pregnant folks are twice as likely to die as a cop.

Not to mention, our bodies ARE NOT properly built for pregnancy. The head barely manages to fit through our hip bones

Your body isn’t built FOR pregnancy it’s able to do so sure, but not what it’s meant to do, It’s built to SURVIVE. Hence why actions needed to survive are involuntary and pregnancy is not. Also the whole argument of humans being a rare species in that we experience menopause.🤷‍♀️

LITERALLY. Everyone tells you ‘you’ll want medicine because you’ll be torn apart’ ‘did you poop on the table?’ ‘It’s going to burn when you pee for a few weeks’. LIKE WHAT. You expect me to be prepared and want this 😓

Am I the only one who wants nothing more than to have kids? Something's gotta be wrong with me there's no way my maternal urge is normal

NOPENOPENOPENOPE my 5'1 95lb body certainly is NOT built for pregnancy EVER and I don't want kids ever either too much responsibility... give me a cat or two instead I want to get my tubes removed but my insurance doesn't cover that

i don’t want kids cuz my bf and i have too many issues that we’d pass down 😭 like physically and athletically they’d be unstoppable with our bodies combined but they’d also have horrible dental problems right from birth and a lot of mental disorders too

i definitely want kids but like i cant stop thinking abt all the side effects of pregnancy either. it is such a beautiful thing being able to become a mother but it comes at the expense of my own health. and my mom suffered like long lasting effects from having my and my siblings so im afraid that ill have to live with the same difficulties that could be avoided when not having kids ☹️

You can literally go blind from the stress on the body when giving birth or even being pregnant. Are you fucking with me? Hell no.

as a nurse, giving birth is BEAUTIFUL. it is bittersweet to hear a little tiny ickle bickle baby take his first breath and cry his first cry. also pregnant bellies literally look good on everyone. they look kinda funky in certain positions but they’re sooooooo cutesie ahhhh i love it

We’re built to accommodate birthing humans with huge brains, that’s why it’s such a difficult and dangerous process and why human babies come out so helpless. They’re basically premature in a way because if they came out at the same stage of development as other animals, they’d probably be toddler sized or bigger

You know if it wasn't normal to have a maternal urge we'd certainly not last long as a species. For me it's the thought of being pregnant, giving birth, and being solely responsible for another human life that scares me

I love kids though. I'd love to be the cool neighborhood auntie! like if I could skip right to being grandma for someone's kid I'd love that lol

I literally want all of that. I think my maternal urge is unusually strong, but maybe seeing so many people be so disgusted by it has made me feel like it's not normal or right to be pregnant like I'll be judged.

I mean, I think you're just naturally going to hear more from women who don't want kids than from women who have kids and love it .. they're too busy with their kids haha!

I actually do want kids, I just get annoyed because pregnancy itself makes me scared an every time I say it I get hit with the whole “oh but your body is made for it why are you scared” line
