bring back the goddesses! i feel the same way about the abrahamic religions and that’s why i’m spiritual. i also know a few people who work with deities like Aphrodite or Hekate and have altars for them. as a woman, connecting with the divine feminine has given me more faith than main stream religion ever could. i will never worship a man. you should look into other forms of spirituality <3
for me it’s bc if there is a higher power i would need to see it outside of a very old book that humans have written but claim is the word of their god (any god). bc like okay yeah you say that but anyone can say anything. also bc of how many mental illnesses/conditions i have ik many bitches running around with no knowledge of these things were just mentally unwell. like yeah i can write a whole book on my fav topic too i just have autism. i see things too ive had psychotic episodes
i’m catholic, and i completely understand your point. a lot of the translations of the bible are deeply misogynistic because of the people translating them, especially the king james version. i understand and recognize that, which unfortunately a lot of people in my religion don’t. there are also so many badass women in the bible who get completely ignored which is super annoying! these woman saved their people and they get skipped over!
also bc of what you said ^^ religions are very much anti-women even if women themselves claim they are not. but they are honestly as a whole very restrictive of our movements and place in society. no matter how much someone tries to twist and turn and talk abt oh but it actually means this when it says that. i just believe men, at least in the past, have been insecure in their way less involvement in literally creating and maintaining the human race. it made them feel less powerful. so they
and no this isn’t me being like oh it’s womb-envy!!! while yeah it technically is what i am saying by definition. but im saying when humans had wayyyy less knowledge and understanding of the world than we do today, it’s very likely that they saw this honestly genuinely powerful action of pregnancy and birthing more humans but got insecure with their masculine and less prominent role🤷🏻♀️okie sorry done now ik this isn’t philosophy class
oh i didn’t mean to make it seem like im calling religious ppl bitches lol. i just like saying the word more ironically. i was calling the ppl who created these religions bitches but like idk a like just neutral way bc it’s a fun word to use instead of saying ppl 🤩 im not being mean promise
of course, again not what i’m saying at all! im just theorizing why these religions MAY have been created as i’d say most of them are pretty anti-women and restrictive. the only reason i can genuinely think of why someone would make another so unequal during this time is bc they seem them as superior or doing something superior that makes them feel like they need to do something to hide their inferiority (not saying anything is superior/inferior. just describing the way ppl’s brains MAY have
worked and been wired during the process of creating these institutions. im very direct and neutral in my head when i am communicating on things of these topics. i hold no strong opinions on what individual humans do with their own lives. but i understand if it may not come across that way!)
ah my bad then! well if anyone is reading this and feels unwelcome i hope yk that i genuinely have a love for individual humans as a whole as i think humans are very cool🤩 i want everyone to live their lives accordingly as ik i have a strong need to live mine that fits my needs. i just am a neutral speaker overall and like using words that make my brain go bzzzzz. don’t mind me. nobody is actually a bitch🙏🏻
everyone is entitled to believe what they want but what irritates me is that they don’t understand or refuse to understand the criticisms. i really wish more people on this app would take an ethics and philosophy class because it really shows how messed up religion actually is, yet people are brainwashed to think it’s the best thing in the world when it objectively isn’t. of course everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and practice of religion is a constitutional right.
I mean Indian culture is supportive of the patriarchal imposition on women. Hinduism is not. I won’t argue because of what I’ve learned in my religion. I’m not aware of the intricacies of Christianity and am not commenting on it. Or any other religion for that matter. If this is pissing you off, that isn’t my intention. But, I’m just trying to put my truth out there.
