Thanks! I’m a freshman and it’s crazy seeing everyone write out elaborate plans to avoid it. You’re not meant to stay skinny or “thin” in every season of your life. Just relax

I had the freshman -15 because my dining hall was so far away and bad. gaining 15 is totally fine and normal and the only real issue it causes is having to buy different pants

But also, the biggest cause of it is alcohol!! Be careful and safe with alcohol, you don’t have to have many drinks on a night out. Get to a good level of tipsy and you’re golden

Yesss, it makes no sense to beat yourself up over not looking/weighing the same as your highschool self because -shocker- you’re an adult woman now

This!! I gained 15 pounds my freshman year of college and almost had a meltdown—and I almost triggered an eating disorder trying to lose the weight. I finally realized that I NEEDED to gain that weight (105 at age 17 to 120 at 18) and I can finally not feel like crap all the time!!

(tw: ED) in a strange way, my school having good food and the freshman 15 may have saved my life. going into college my freshman year i was a recovering ano and didn’t drink at all. but if the food hadn’t been good i probably would’ve fallen back into my ED and potentially died.

Sure but also use this time to become educated about nutrition. You can still enjoy lots of good food and balance and moderate things. There are so many options it’s the perfect time to learn.

Oh god I didn’t know all of that was happening. I just heard it a bunch from the adults in my life and it made me have an even worse relationship with food and my body

yep, i lost 15lbs because my dining hall had an infestation of tiny black beetles in all the food and all i ate was their prepackaged ice cream cups LOLLLL

Gaining a few pounds doesn’t necessarily mean you feel like shit?
