Love, eating compulsively is a pretty core survival mechanism! It helps you stay alive and with the energy you need to go about your day. I was running a deficit for years and weighed myself every day and my folks made me see a dietician who asked I 1) stop weighing myself entirely, and 2) aim for three food groups (of nuts/seeds/legumes, starches, dairy, fruits, vegetables, and protein) per meal and try to get an evenish spread between the groups.
