If you’re counting for example rocks, you go 1, 2, ….. 12, 13, 14 etc. If you’re counting hours and you’re not using the 24-hour system you go 1, 2, ….. 10, 11, 12, 1, because there is no 13th hour

No I don’t lose my place I just start over at 1 because my brain is structuring the counting like time (no 13th hour so you start back over at 1)
