How do you really get over someone? After therapy, antidepressants, and 4 months time, he still handsomely haunts my brain. (For context, as embarrassingly to admit, it was a 2 month talking stage and went south at the end of it…)

maybe look into some mental illnesses you may have honestly bc as someone with bpd this is a familiar pattern😭 not saying that’s what you have but just that it would be smart to look into some possibilities so you can help yourself further

at some point u have to accept that it'll always be apart of u, but u have to move past it and fill ur thoughts with other things. when enough time passes ull be far enough away from it that it won't haunt u everyday. ofc healing isnt linear and it can always pop back up, but dwelling on it is just gonna make it continue to steal the life u could be living away

Could also be some other external factors, we never know what someone went through but op should seriously consider reflecting a little more on themselves

Or as he liked to call it a “dynamic”, I’m just living with so much regret from making stupid jokes to the point where he threw away my deceased uncle’s coat and demeaned me to my core. Yet I’m left with questions of what did I do wrong? As my mom likes to put it, when a sadist capitalistic engineer meets an obedient innocent graphic design angel lol. Maybe #3 is right though, too much overthinking and not much self reflection. Don’t really have much experience as well, thanks for replying tho.

Definitely will try to save up for it, but the diagnosis tests are beyond expensive

you did nothing wrong. his actions were his actions and his alone. could you have done something differently, sure, but that goes for like genuinely every single decision made. i understand having regrets but you have to be able to forgive yourself

i get it! it’s definitely a whole process. get in touch with a therapist and psychiatrist, and educate yourself on anything you might resonate with. don’t self diagnose, but make yourself aware of the things you may have and then get a second opinion from a professional! :)
