I’m absolutely begging u guys if ur vacationing at the beach to GOOGLE WHAY THE FLAGS MEAN. Two ppl have died at the beach by my house during double red flag weather. DONT SWIM ST NIGHT DONT SWIM IF THE WATER LOOKS TOO ROUGH TBE OCEAN IS NOT FORGIVING

oh heyyyyy myrtle beach area twinnnn (i’m seriously so upset by the number of drownings we have every year bc of nobody educating about/enforcing/knowing the flag codes)

Heavy on the no swimming at night! The ocean is beautiful but it is not something to mess around with One of the drownings was right up the road from where my family is camping this week :/

Tbh I feel like hotels on/near the beach should hand out pamphlets or have a tv up or something dedicated to showing current weather conditions/what the flags mean

absolutely. i’ve been on myrtle nearly my whole life and i’ve only ever been to two beaches that had an infographic about the flags and riptides. one of them is huntington in georgetown (nearly always double red anyway), i don’t remember the other
