I say go with a tampon to be on the safer side, personally I would rather deal with the discomfort of pulling out a dry tampon over bleeding through anything in public

i'd just wear a black swimsuit and go in with nothing. when u get in the water ur period will most likely come to a pause until it's dry down there again

For some reason my period always pauses when I’m submerged in water. But maybe use a light tampon if you have one just in case

I vote for black swimsuit or other swimsuit w a panty liner if you don’t have a black one. Both of those recs are just on the change that you might bleed which at worst may stain whatever you’re wearing. PS I’m immunocompromised and almost always commend erring on the side of caution but, like, pools are nasty. Even at full flow, you’d not be the worst thing that water’s seen in the past hour.

idk why people are saying it's unsanitary to swim with nothing there's literally nothing unsanitary about that??

While I don’t it’s necessarily unsanitary to me it is a body fluid and blood can carry infections (OP I am in no way saying you have something please don’t take it like that) and while most adults know not to swallow pool water children do, i am a nursing student and to me it is more of a health thing

Period blood is some of the cleanest blood, it’s not even regulated as a biohazard. Most things are pretty much killed immediately by chlorine anyway. E. coli, salmonella, and cryptosporidium are the main survivors and you’re going to run a much worse risk coming from a man who doesn’t properly wipe his ass than from anybody’s period

As long as you’re maintaining it properly, that’s a-okay. The pool works by using electrolysis to produce chlorine. It still has chlorine, even though you’re not adding chlorine tablets. Disclaimer: if you’re just taking a pool that normally requires chlorine tablets and diy adding salt then I’d have to break out a couple textbooks to give an answer
