My mom kept telling me that I wouldn’t amount to anything if I didn’t apply myself and that I would be useless in life. I didn’t want to, the work was under stimulating my brain and I felt stuck so I decided to see how far they’d push me along through middle school and I got into a STEM school and then trade school for my entirety of high school and graduated top 15% of my class. She stopped telling me shit after that, now I’m going to be the first gen in my family to graduate from college
