i use them for work so one of the few things i splurge on are jeans and a but easier to justify😅 i usually look on ebay or fb marketplace to find vintage jeans in good condition and 100% cotton raw denim for durability. the jeans i ordered are only 82% but hoping to be a bit more comfortable sooo we'll see how things go

So 100% raw cotton denim for durability but less comfortable?

yes. a lot of jeans meant for utility is stiff. it takes a while to break in but great once broken. it'll be comfortable after a few months but no stretch = less sagging, stretching, splitting at seams. heavy weight raw denim is meant for high friction, so if you really want to get good lifespan out of your jeans look for those + somewhere in the range of 14-16 oz denim. under 14 is way more comfortable but less durable and over 16 is gonna be even worse for breaking in BUT great for things like

Wearing someone else’s clothes typically gives me an ick but I might do it for a good pair of jeans

understandable lol but if you end up doing it i rec doing a cold soak with diluted vinegar and a hot dry day (the smell wont linger when diluted in cold water and air dried completely). vintage is worth it imo for comfort and price (usually <$20 compared to 150-300 for a lot of good denim brands)
