 Gave my dog trazadone cause he has a vet appt tomorrow and he’s acting scared & loopy and I feel so bad I wish I could explain i only gave it to him so he didn’t bite the vet :(

no medication works on my dog. he’s just a tiny menace to society, but they have licking pads at the vet and they use spray cheese on them. apparently he also fell in love with the male vet tech so i guess that is helpful bc his love could distract him 😭 it’s hard having a dog that has a difficult time at the vet bit you’re doing your best

i’d suggest a combination of gabapentin and traz! they work together to really help calm pets down. at my clinic we say do it the night before and the morning of, but talk to your vet about it before just dosing him based off a stranger on the internet lol

He won’t take ANY treats from anyone when we go to the vet bc he gets so stressed 😭 they had a new doc and a male tech and neither gave him time to adjust to new people. I told them he was aggressive and reactive and did NOT like men before I brought him and ig they didn’t make note? He fought the chill pills so hard lmao

His vet gave him the traz! It was 300mg the night before & 300mg the morning of. He hasn’t been on any meds before so they recommended not doing a combo just in case he had adverse reactions to either one. For his appt next year they’re giving me a mix of both since we know he responds to the trazodone fine :)

nah that’s just a shitty practice atp. i always make sure to tell them how to deal with bug best. last week when i took him, there was a new vet and she requests that all patients go to the back where multiple techs are bc she was attacked by a patient in the face. i understand her concerns but i wasn’t super happy about it because he has separation anxiety and didn’t know any of the techs or the vet, even though he’s very friendly.

It’s the only place he can go 💀 we have to take him to livestock vet since they have a big room. Our local dog/cat vet refused to see him after he snapped at a Dr bc the Dr snatched his leash from me
