as someone who works with dv victims, it’s insane how messed up the process for survivors is, like it’s difficult to get them in most instances and then they get them and sometimes they aren’t even enforced which allows more stuff to happen

luckily mine was just against a crazy neighbor but the people i saw in the waiting room at the commissioner’s office in the middle of the night were genuinely heartbreaking, mostly women there with children bc they can’t get someone to watch them at a moment’s notice, so the children were having to hear clarifications about the written accounts of what happened to the mothers 😭
