i feel the same way! like ive been having to take ubers more recently & ive noticed like 90% of the drivers r hispanic/speak very little english but theyre trying their best & i feel so bad not being able to communicate/understand them (despite taking 4 years of spanish in high school & some in college🥲) its times like these i wish i was taught multiple languages as a child

I was friends in high school with one of the janitors, I will always miss Antonio. he was so sweet and we started talking in Spanish every so often (he was an immigrant, English is his second language). I enjoyed my Spanish classes bc I knew I could talk with my friend better, and sometimes we’d explain words/phrases to each other
