Most of them are familiar with the anxiety they cause, especially for young patients, and are receptive if you communicate what they can do to ease it. But of course there are outliers. Just remember that you can always withdraw consent and ask them to do what they can within your comfort zone. You can always go reschedule or try a different doc if you’re uncomfortable. They should always respect your consent. Are you going for a wellness visit or for a concern?

do not worry, it’s not so bad I can promise you that at least. It might feel uncomfortable but I promise they are very mature and respectful about what they do.

Solid time to go. They may recommend an STI test, Pap, and likely birth control if you plan to continue to be sexually active. Those may require a physical exam/swab, so be mentally prepared for that, but you can always decline. For PMDD, the common treatments are birth control (addresses the hormonal triggers directly), variable SSRI dosages (to address the mental health issues), and/or therapy (to build coping mechanisms and reinforce thought patterns). professional to adequately work through SSRI or therapy solutions. Personally, birth control has worked wonders for me for PMDD, but different things work for different people! Go into it with an open mind and ask questions!!!

Thanks for all the details! My mom has had uterine cancer recently (hormonal) so I’m going to bring that up as well. I’ve held off on it, but that def pushed me to make an appt since things have gonna cooled off with her recovery (hopefully 🤞🏾)
