When I’m at a restaurant I always wait a second after someone orders before saying my order that way the waiter has time to finish writing the other order. Is that excessive😭 my boyfriend says it’s excessive

It’s not like I’m pausing for 20 seconds. I just wait like five secs for them to finish writing. He got annoyed with me bc he started ordering barely before I finished saying my order and I told him to wait a sec to let her finish writing
