I got blocked for explaining that men succeeding at suicide more often than women while women attempt more often means we should address suicide rates and loneliness equally and not just men, and he said that’s like ALM to BLM 💀 dude noYes exactly! Poison & overdose are the most common things for women to try but it also takes the longest to kill, is easier to treat if someone intervenes, and is less likely to work bc bodies all have different tolerances and everything so it’s pretty unpredictable how much damage it will do unless you do heavy research beforehand. Because of all of that, it’s dramatically less effective which causes large disparities in the stats of attempts vs completed suicides.
I know when I was suicidal as a teen, I actively thought about how I could do it so no one had to find me or see my body specifically bc I didn’t want to traumatize anyone, which is why I really do believe that that’s a likely reason for suicide choices, but then again it’s very confirmation bias coded
