birth certificate you might wanna give that back just for safety and to make sure you don’t lose it

Just make copies!! Have your mom keep the originals but keep laminated paper copies with you at college! Also having a copy of your health insurance is a good idea as well!

i think it makes sense to keep ur ss if you don’t have it memorized and passport. i know my birth certificate is locked up in a safe though and you might lose it at college so thats the only thing id be worried about

You could keep your passport but the others you would want to keep safe and secure so copies are a better option

do you think i'd be okay with just a photo of my health insurance? i'm going to be a college freshman this year lol and idk if my dad has extra copies of our health insurance card lol

You need a photo of the front and back OR just do a paper copy of the front and back and then tape them together so it can still be scanned by insurance card readers. But yeah you’re definitely fine with just those!
