I hate that an underwear brand is seen as peak femininity. It’s like womanhood = half naked, body-focused, beautiful, etc

Wait there’s nothing wrong with that either! I’m partly just being bitter because they don’t carry my size, and since it’s such a big part of womanhood I feel left out. I do still wish our achievements were talked about more than our bodies but there’s nothing wrong with liking VS!

Okay and I’m happy that you feel good and that it fits well. But that’s not the point I am making. I’m talking about how every see we see women having tantrum because they see it as an attack on their “femininity and safe space” whenever they see any form of inclusivity at the VS Fashion Show.

Like the brand wasn’t even created for women when it first started, like it was literally founded/marketed for men so they could buy lingeries for their wives, gfs, etc.

Wow I didn’t know that. But that checks out - if women were the ones running the show from the beginning we would not define ourselves so narrowly, if that makes sense

Yeah, obviously they had to alter their business model to increase their profits but even after that one of the main selling points of VS was for women to look sexy for men.
