this might ruffle some feathers but people need to stop romanticizing and glamorizing their pets being fat. it’s unhealthy for them and you’re putting them at risk of diseases including certain types of cancer. you’re also killing their joints.

cat shelter volunteer here, say it louderrr!!!!! when people ask us how often/much to feed their cats they’re always shocked and think it’s too little. (1/2 wet can in morning, 1/2 at night, plus one cup of dry food left out all day) sooo many ppl overfeed without knowing it, which is understandable if they simply don’t know. but when they’re aware and think it’s cute and quirky… like no.. you’re making their life shorter😭

my roommate just fills her cats bowl up every few days which is why i won't be getting a cat til i move out bc i don't want it to eat like that😭 my bbs will be IN SHAPE
