idk there’s something so satisfying about seeing birth rates go down it just feels so liberating. i love my fellow women. I love mothers and i love non-mothers. i love women that do what they want instead of what’s traditionally expected of them

There has been a substantial increase tho in the number of women who want to conceive and are having difficulty, and my heart goes out to them knowing that they contribute to the declining number not by choice, but I agree with your point everyone should do what they want I just feel bad for those who don’t have an option

Will it be satisfying when the human population goes extinct?

There’s nothing wrong morally with a species going extinct when it is no longer adapted for survival. If the society we built is the death of us, so be it.

Except we can make a decision about this, it’s not about adaption. Birth rate isn’t some unchangeable thing, lmfao. You do seem eager to see the end of civilization though lmfao.

I’m not saying it’s unchangeable. I’m saying if you want people to reproduce you need to change the factors that cause people to not reproduce. An unlivable society will result in birth rate decline. Shaming women? Not a reliable way to keep the birth rate up.

And I’m also making a point about how human extinction is not a threat. Human extinction will happen. It’s just a matter of when. You using extinction like some sort of “gotcha” to make women who don’t have kids feel bad is fucking weird.

We are overpopulated as hell right now, I think extinction is the least of our problems. Besides if we can’t create a world that helps mothers and their children live healthily and happily what incentive is there to just keep reproducing

some people value “being alive” more than anything else & it’s weird to me. there are so many fates worse than death. extinction and death are natural.

sure but why wouldn’t you try to keep humans alive if you could? Especially when that’s certainly what a supermajority of people want…

You’re fucking weird. I’m not saying we should make women feel bad. I’m saying it’s weird to “root for” a declining birthrate like OP is doing when that could mean PREMATURE extinction that could be avoided (you did elegantly note how the birth rate is changeable)…

You’re making my points for me, except for your strawman argument that I’m encouraging the shaming of women somehow. Lol.

The world isn’t necessarily overpopulated. It’s also really depressing to not even try to create a better world.

Nah you definitely just misspelled it lol Adaption is a niche alternative spelling for adaptation that’s occasionally used in British English, and you’re not using any other verbiage from that style in any of your comments. The odds that you use a regionalized spelling of that one specific word and nothing else are infinitesimally small

i feel for those women too but that is an issue of women’s health being ignored time and time again

Yeah except the problem is nobody’s doing that. Women talk everyday about how we need support in order to feel ready to have kids and people continue to ignore that, so until that changes why would we pop kids out for the hell of it?

How is it wrong to finally see some real world consequences for treating women and working class people like shit? If you want your bottom line protected through the production of infinite consumers & laborers, maybe start paying people a livable wage so they can actually have kids. If people want capitalism to finally collapse & fall apart, let them want that. Truly who cares.

Because what is the point of being alive when your quality of life is absolute dogshit and you’re constantly being exploited. Some things are worth dying for, a better quality of life is certainly among them. Who even are you? Some corporate CEO? Like trying to fear monger people into having kids? Be ffr.

Real, make it viable to have children, make having children actually something that people want to do again. I don’t want to make someone live in this world against their will, as it stands I’ll be getting married but I’ll never have children

I agree, a better quality of life is worth dying for. I’m not trying to “fear monger” anyone, its a factual truth that sitting below the birth replacement rate can end a civilization. The onus isn’t even just on individuals, it’s on our government to protect it. Maybe learn to use your brain before your next commenr, it might go over better for you.

We’ll do just fine without someone who wants us all dead, trust me! If you had any knowledge whatsoever you might understand the tolerance paradox — tolerating intolerance will end a society, so you have to be intolerant of those who are intolerant (YOU.) lol

I don’t want the human race dead i’m not actively trying to destroy the human race im just saying i would not care at all if we went extinct and to be honest a lot of good would come out of it. also im…not dying….? why are you acting like im gonna be dead. i’m not going anywhere😭
