Omfg. You’re a 6’ white dude I do NOT want to hear about how dangerous it is to walk alone or live 9 blocks from a low income neighborhood. Ppl are not waiting around every corner to mug you and no I don’t feel bad for how scary your world is.

men CAN and ARE victims, but statistics are real, and the odds of a large white man being assaulted are lower than any woman’s

when did i say men were assaulted more? what i’m saying is just because we have it worse doesn’t invalidate that men can be victims regardless of size or race

downvoting my comments is literally proving my point, i’ve been followed before so i get we have it hard, but saying “i don’t want to hear about your feelings” simply because it doesn’t happen as often is invalidating of the fact that it does happen

Men being victims is worth talking about, men pretending they’re the victims in made up scenarios is going to be made fun of

no exactly. We don't even live in a dangerous neighborhood. I can take care of myself but there have been times I couldn't go places alone bc my Mom or friends were worried for my safety and I hate causing a fuss so seeing him write fanfiction about it pissed me off. Bc dreaming up scenarios where they're singled out as victims of random acts of violence is the closest they can get to actually fearing for their safety. And so many guys are like this, my own father included.

And their idea of victimhood usually begins and ends with lost property. It’s a burglar or a mugging or their car gets broken into. The scariest thing they can imagine is shooting a thief dead in their jammies or calling the bank to shut down their credit cards. Obviously men can be victims. They can also be annoying and insensitive.
