actually it was their great grandmothers maybe. bc both of their families referred to the friend of the grandmother as “aunt”, so once they stumbled upon the realizing that “their aunts” were eachothers grandma’s, they freaked out and went to their moms bc they thought they were related😭 but turns out the two ladies were just friends

bc they both knew the names of the “aunts” but they didn’t actually know them. so it was prob great grandmother
