It’s my understanding that the commercial was supposed to mimic one Brook Shields made for Calvin Klein in the 80s, which had controversy of its own because Shields was a minor at the time.

Good genes = Hot woman She has been advertised before this on other ads because they know she has a ton of sex appeal. Everything is just not that deep. The last big commercial with the soap is what set her up for the American Eagle. The ads they used even portrayed her figure and body more than just her eyes and hair. Literally zooms in on her body in strategically revealing clothing

And yet specifically focus on her having blue eyes, she’s blonde in the ad, they want a view of her “profile and hands”, showing her as being some tall, thin, robust beauty… all nazi and white ‘supremacist’ rhetoric about how the “ideal woman” should look.

i’m gonna be honest, i didn’t understand it at first either. but my sister made a good point, we are currently watching a genocide, the literal destruction of an entire ethnic group, based on racism and racism alone. when you put a blond, blue eyes white woman on a pedestal, saying her “genes” are good, and you apply that to the world we’re living in right now, of course people are going to see that and think “genes > ethnicity > ethnic cleansing > gaza > etc” like idk timing and words matter.
