Pls if you’re a cosplay girly i desperately need help and advice on materials for a very high collared cape. I’m inexperienced and don’t know what material is stiff enough to stand but malleable enough to make wearable

Starch the fuck out it (cotton) or sew in a piece of plastic or strips of boning between two layers of fabric

I gave up on cosplay when I spent 2 days on a wig just for it to not look right on my head

Sorry guys I was at work but this is the vibes and it’s not a joke but I just don’t think I’m experienced enough to make separate pieces for the shoulder pad part and the super high collar and i don’t know if it would have enough support for the collar to stand if I made two pieces, is there anything that can be formed as one piece to look this way?? Am I dumb

Does cheap thick plastic work as well as boning bc I’ve heard it’s expensive

I feel like boning is inevitable for me in this case tho:/ I’m scared of it tbh this is so frightening

But ultimately the texture should be leather-ish I guess

I love you guys thank you so much😭can you hot glue things to it too? Bc I want to also use this for minion’s suit too and I think he has fur on his shoulder pads? But it’s like blueish so obvi just some synthetic fluff ig and like hot gluing it on would be so much easier lol

I think you could hot glue? try looking up some cosplay tutorials where people use eva foam. they might have some good tips for working with it!
