air purifier. i didn’t get sick once and im convinced thats why. dust and clean thoroughly once a week (eg sunday reset). do your laundry asap so it doesn’t sit for months. get shower shoes and a plastic caddy, not mesh. get a bath sheet, they’re bigger and longer. microwave and fridge were nice. take advantage of the dining halls. don’t be a stranger, have your door open on move in day. use command hooks/strips for everything fr they’re so nice. tv is overrated tbh. storage storage storage!!!
I’d do a laundry bag that can double as a backpack just in case ur laundry is far! Maybe get a one-step step stool too bc most dorm beds are at a weird height of being too tall but too short lol. I’d get a lot of storage stuff to maximize space use. Don’t forget to get a heating pad lmao. #1 took my answer abt the drink condom thing. Maybe also get a small reusable set of utensils that would fit in ur backpack (fork, knife, straw, spoon, etc) for sustainability.
for laundry: tide pods make life so much easier! cloth laundry bag is better than a plastic basket imo bc it can be squished into a corner for protection: pepper spray ofc, and you can get an extra door lock/chain if you really feel like you need it. def get one of those little stretchy caps you can put over your drink too other than that, make sure you have a fan, and a vacuum was a game changer for me :)
