as a black person i hate seeing latinos say the n word more than me but here we are. the whole thing now started bc latinos were hating being racist and hating on beyonce for sampling a selena song. everyone expects black people to speak up for them but when the roles reverse theyâre all nowhere to be found
As valid as you are I keep seeing the argument be used on opposite ends where theyâre like âwell they donât speak up for us so why should we do it for themâ man Iâve met so many black people that speak up for Latinos irl because Iâd always put myself in a situation to defend black people and speak on their discrimination and horror stories of oppression that they still go through to this day but my point is why give up on a community when yall both got/getting the same treatment ykwim.
As for the hate on BeyoncĂ© I know itâs because she chose to buyout her family which itâs been known since Selena died that her family are sellouts. They never cared about basically leaving this dead woman alone already and just admire her work instead of adding onto it. To them itâs basically like Kim modifying the Marilyn Monroe dress
itâs not the same as the dress situation like at all. how many times has selena been sampled before? beyoncĂ© is absolutely not the first person to sample her but because sheâs black and has a platform, people are attacking her and saying sheâs being hypocritical for not speaking out against ice/for the latino community. as if she didnât outwardly support l kamala and as if around HALF of the latino community didnât vote for trump in the first place
Iâve seen many pushbacks on anyone sampling Selenaâs music. The only time Iâve seen it be not as bad is if another Mexican artist would sample her because they see it as sticking to their roots. They just see Beyonces actions as more of a money grab than trying to show respect since again like I said her family just cares about money theyâve profited off of her just as much as she was alive to now as sheâs dead.
And you bring up Latinos voting for him like black people didnât vote for him because theyâre tired of just looking at and hearing Latinos. Either itâs not âwhat about thisâ âwhat about thatâ you realize both parties are fucked up and need to focus on the bigger picture and itâs not like BeyoncĂ© didnât surround herself with bad people in Hollywood including her husband for so long. My point is no is perfect but no one is 100% right in this situation and we should be united instead of targeting
how is it beyonces fault that selenaâs family only cares about money? she asked permission and got it. thatâs all she needed to do. trump got around 15-20% of the black vote and 42-48% of the latino vote. this one isnât on us lmao. sure both parties have flaws but thatâs not what iâm talking about. my point is you trying to paint black people as in the wrong when your community is attacking us for actually no reason
See but Iâm not youâre putting words in my mouth. My post said some black people. Not the community. And also anyone knows itâs common sense to research someone if they wanna pay tribute to them or honor them in some way than just doing how they want to do it. Youâre only proving my point girl
you not being able to comprehend my point doesnât mean iâm proving your point or grasping for anything lmfao. my whole point is that the same music a black woman sampled and is getting attacked for is the same music that was influenced by black artists in the first place and yet no one bats an eye. you are genuinely not worth going back and forth with so iâm just not gonna. have the day you deserve!
