As valid as you are I keep seeing the argument be used on opposite ends where they’re like “well they don’t speak up for us so why should we do it for them” man I’ve met so many black people that speak up for Latinos irl because I’d always put myself in a situation to defend black people and speak on their discrimination and horror stories of oppression that they still go through to this day but my point is why give up on a community when yall both got/getting the same treatment ykwim.

As for the hate on Beyoncé I know it’s because she chose to buyout her family which it’s been known since Selena died that her family are sellouts. They never cared about basically leaving this dead woman alone already and just admire her work instead of adding onto it. To them it’s basically like Kim modifying the Marilyn Monroe dress

it’s not the same as the dress situation like at all. how many times has selena been sampled before? beyoncé is absolutely not the first person to sample her but because she’s black and has a platform, people are attacking her and saying she’s being hypocritical for not speaking out against ice/for the latino community. as if she didn’t outwardly support l kamala and as if around HALF of the latino community didn’t vote for trump in the first place

I’ve seen many pushbacks on anyone sampling Selena’s music. The only time I’ve seen it be not as bad is if another Mexican artist would sample her because they see it as sticking to their roots. They just see Beyonces actions as more of a money grab than trying to show respect since again like I said her family just cares about money they’ve profited off of her just as much as she was alive to now as she’s dead.

And you bring up Latinos voting for him like black people didn’t vote for him because they’re tired of just looking at and hearing Latinos. Either it’s not “what about this” “what about that” you realize both parties are fucked up and need to focus on the bigger picture and it’s not like Beyoncé didn’t surround herself with bad people in Hollywood including her husband for so long. My point is no is perfect but no one is 100% right in this situation and we should be united instead of targeting

how is it beyonces fault that selena’s family only cares about money? she asked permission and got it. that’s all she needed to do. trump got around 15-20% of the black vote and 42-48% of the latino vote. this one isn’t on us lmao. sure both parties have flaws but that’s not what i’m talking about. my point is you trying to paint black people as in the wrong when your community is attacking us for actually no reason

no one was calling for selena’s head when she performed michael jackson songs at her concerts or when she outwardly said she took inspiration from him and janet jackson for her own music but beyoncé samples one song and the world has to end

you not being able to comprehend my point doesn’t mean i’m proving your point or grasping for anything lmfao. my whole point is that the same music a black woman sampled and is getting attacked for is the same music that was influenced by black artists in the first place and yet no one bats an eye. you are genuinely not worth going back and forth with so i’m just not gonna. have the day you deserve!
