where have you gotten the information that they aren’t necessary? every doctor i’ve seen has said they are important once you hit 21. cervical cancer is no joke so why not take every preventative measure you can? a pap smear might be uncomfortable but cancer is way worse

The chance you will develop cervical cancer in your 20s is around 1.4%. That is not nearly enough of a risk. Stop letting them put women in pain for no reason, your part of the issue

ok. but where are you hearing that they are not necessary? like source wise. because there is a lot of misinformation out there so either you or me has been a victim to it and i’d like to clear that up

i can. i just want to know where you got YOUR source. because i cannot find anything on that from a credible source. which is not me saying it doesn’t exist, but that i can’t find one

This is not “my source” bc I have don’t my own reasearch which means checking several different studies but since your so insistent someone do some work for you here is one example https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4540330/ You can start there and find out the rest on your own! Many countries with better healthcare than the us have changed the age to at least 25
