I think for me, it’s cause we can’t ever go into space, so it’s just this limitless beyond we’ll never truly see. One yacht wreck (I will never be on a yacht cause I’m poor) and I could be stuck at Point Nemo, where I’m closer to space than land and an unknown sea creature could eat me in one bite

I totally understand what u mean and this is beside ur point, but what gets me is that we technically ARE in space on a floating rock. It makes me feel weird if I think abt it too hard. Like space just isn’t a destination to go to, we are already part of it
