I don’t think you know what actual gentle parenting means and are just interpreting it literally as “being as gentle and soft and passive as possible while the kids run you over.” I worry for your future kids. No child should be getting hit or beaten just cause their parents can’t use their words and actions to teach a lesson

Yeah there’s a genuine huge difference with how my parents raised my brother and I vs my little sister. Theres a decent age gap between us so I guess the break changed their perspective on how to raise a kid. But now there’s a major difference in respect and things within that aspect. So I’m with you 100%

Are you maybe referring to permissive parenting? Gentle parenting is just another name for authoritative parenting. Which is the middle ground between permissive and authoritarian. Authoritative

that's also a bit far, but people take gentle parenting as basically not parenting at all, i think it's possible to find a happy medium where u can still reprimand kids without physical violence

My last two sentences were referencing to a comment OP made here (that ig is now deleted? Not sure why tho) about how their parents hit them and how they turned out fine. This post combined with that comment is why I said what I said
