I have wavy/curly hair but have always treated it like it was straight. What products should I use to bring my curls back like shampoo? And what products do I need after my shower to keep them bouncy? I want to embrace my curls/waves

Did you like burn off your ends or smth? I know that too much heat and certain types after a while can take away ur curls

I have a feeling we have similar hair types, I attached a pic of mine for reference. Shampoo and conditioner doesn’t need to be high end, just something that gives you hella moisture without being heavy. I use the black elvive shampoo and conditioner. I also use suave leave in repair treatment after I shower and when my hair is dry sometimes

ive been using skala lately and that shit is GOLDDDDD 🙏🙏 but when i feel lazy ill do the jonathan method and mix a bit of conditioner and water in a spray bottler and spray my hair to bring my curls back to life

I don't use heat because I have no clue how to use a curling iron😭

When did you notice them go away?

I noticed that I had them a couple of years back. I tried to start a routine but nothing ever stuck. I know its probably gonna be a long process after I get out the shower. And they have never truly gone away, they are just there. Undefined and frizzy

I think a good thing to do is search up curl patterns. Look at ppl with the same pattern and try to copy them. I’m a 4C hair type so it’s easier for to know now search that up yk

I can try but there are so many different curl patterns in my hair, its ridiculous. I have super straight pieces, ones with a lot of wave, ones with more curl to them, and ones that look like coils

That’s normal. I have 2 different curl patterns in my head. It’s the curl pattern you have the most of.

Btw this was a bad hair day but it’s the clearest pic I have of my curl/wave pattern 💀

I have a little more curl than that I think. Thanks though. This might help me out

I see a lot of 2c or 3a in my hair especially right after I get out of the shower

Not sure if it would be the same case for you but everyone was recommending the “it’s a 10” brand to me and I finally caved and bought it. As it turns out, it is NOT worth the hype and makes my hair so crunchy and frizzy. So avoid that

Or I could also be looking at the wrong chart😭

I've never heard of it but thanks for the advice. I'll steer clear of it

This is right after a shower. Sorry for the bad picture

I think what will help you figure out your curl pattern is to just start with brushing/combing it out while it’s wet, and scrunching it with a t shirt until it air dries. Don’t worry about diffusing right now because it’s difficult imo, especially when you don’t know your pattern yet. Then you can kinda go from there

I recommend brushing/combing it when you’re still in the shower so you can do that while you have conditioner in. It spares a lot of damage and helps get the knots out much more easily

I did that in the picture above. But I'll do it again and take a look
