it’s hard to explain, basically they use light receptors on their back and fly backwards towards the light as a sense of direction (light us up & dark is down), artificial light fucks up their orientation & they’ll fly towards & it til they exhaust themselves, sometimes (oftentimes) getting trapped, and ultimately.. yknow.. 🫩
