I’ve heard that people are taking advantage of or kidnapping women by pretending to be ICE but I need to actually look into that

Oh I was kinda just thinking about how being unmarked real cops and ICE makes it even easier for people to do that

Because they don't have to prove their car is federal since ice is using unmarked cars anyway

The existence of unmarked police cars make people more likely to trust fake policeman since they can just get a cheap shitty siren on top of their car and be convincing enough.

Like how they can drive their normal cars and do that

Idk abt the ICE but I know a woman who was r*ped when she pulled over for the unmarked car with red and blue flashing lights. The guy was not a cop and had bought the lights from amazon. If you believe you’re being pulled over by an unmarked cop, DO NOT pull over. Turn on your hazards and call 911. Inform them of the situation and your location and they’ll be able to confirm if it’s actually police or not. (Then pull over if it actually is police)

one of the things my dad told me while i was learning to drive was that if i ever get pulled over and i can tell it’s an unmarked car, keep driving with flashers on and call 911 to see if they have unmarked police in that area to make sure it’s legit

I’ve never personally been pulled over by an unmarked but I was once being stopped my a marked car in the middle of nowhere late at night and I still followed this protocol instead of pulling directly over. Probably overkill, but I’m an anxious ass bitch. Cop was annoyed but I didn’t get in trouble.

OH I also recommend speaking with dispatch about how to make you feel more comfortable, even with a routine traffic stop. Just bcos they’re actually a cop doesn’t mean they don’t plan to attack you. For me, the woman on dispatch stayed on the phone with me until the stop was over and I told her I was okay. I was too far away from anywhere with people or lighting to ask to wait to pull off, but that’s also a great option.
