I only had severe acne and sharp pelvic pains that would literally paralyze me. I went to 4 different doctors looking for an answer, and I realize now that they all definitely thought I was drug seeking. I only found out I had PCOS because my derm prescribed spironolactone and it fixed all my problems. I wish this wasn’t such a common experience :( we should be taken seriously

To add context though, I told one doctors that I was scared of cooking in case I’d get a pain and couldn’t reach the stove to turn it off. One doctor told me to take 500mg of ibuprofen every day and to not use the oven/stove ever :/ it’s just ridiculous and incredibly demoralizing to have a medical professional not GAF at all when you’re suffering

Spiro gang! I have a trans coworker who I complain about the spiro side effects with 😂 I’m happy I can impart some of my learned-the-hard-way knowledge onto her because there was a lot my doc did not warn me about

Def the dehydration and constant peeing at first, (this is a gross one, you’ve been warned) but I was getting really oily stools, and google said it was colon cancer or crohns. But it turns out that just happens sometimes with spiro, I fully thought I was dying 🥀

Also keeping in mind that you can’t have bananas (or any higher potassium food/drink) and grapefruit basically becomes poison
