Just wait! Towards the end of my run on accutane I could sleep in makeup for days and not break out (I didn’t actually, but that’s how good it was once it was fully working)

I’m currently using retin a and I’m in the same boat as you. It takes 12 weeks of consecutive use to actually start seeing major differences. It’s driving me nuts because my skin is so fucking dry and I hate doing it all the time šŸ’” I’m 24 years old and I have the acne of a 16 year old, it’s embarrassing

Not having a routine of regularly coating your skin in a shopping list of hard to pronounce chemicals is a good place to start.

Tell me you don’t know what accutane is without telling me:

Isotretinoin, butylated hydroxyanisole, edetate disodium, and titanium dioxide are a few of the ingredients in Accutane. Tell me you don’t know what accutane is without telling me.

It only comes in oral form, not as a topical. You’re not ā€œcoating your skinā€ in accutane

For some people, accutane is the only solution. And at least try educating yourself on what it is before you criticize a random stranger for making a difficult medical decision for themself

Accutane is not a difficult medical decision but whatever makes you feel virtuous.

There is actually a topical form of Isotretinoin (tretinoin) but you have a good point, OP is probably using the oral form.

It can be incredibly dangerous, it gave me mild liver damage because I had to be on it for a while. You have to give up all substances completely, ibuprofen, and deal with a considerable amount of pain and suffering from cracked, bleeding lips and skin, eye dryness, the initial purge, and other side effects. Also monthly blood tests because it can go very wrong very quickly if it’s not monitored
