One time I was so sick my organ functions started declining. I deadass had multiple doctors say to my face “I think this is depression” you can have undeniable proof and they’ll still dismiss you

So real. I went through several doctors w severe neurological symptoms for YEARS and was told it was my anxiety. Turns out my brain was actually falling out of my skull and pressing against my brainstem 🤩

This is a common theme I’m realizing among women who have male doctors. As women we just need to stop going to them and only use women doctors.

holy shit i just got off of work but the amount of women in the comments with similar stories :( i’m so sorry that happened to all of you and that your providers failed you. it’s truly sickening to see

All doctors suck. This one time at the gyno I was asking questions and I asked about suppositories and how they work. She literally said “mhm no” didn’t explain why, barely allowed me to ask questions! Made sure to push for me to try the latest and least tested BC though 😀 (I think they let her go since then)

Wow, so either doctors are often dismissive of women or need to go back to school to learn about them. But it’s pretty hard to see ANY of these stories in the comments as being caused by inadequate knowledge of sexual dimorphism. Dis a problem

I literally rolled my eyes so far into the back of my head and said OFC! As women we deserve better healthcare and professionals to take us seriously without us being brushed off. This is ridiculous.

Its not really about having the best doctors or their capabilities completing their doctor tasks its about HOW some doctors especially male and some hospitals that don’t take women and even poc seriously and don’t acknowledge their pain and pass it off as something else

Unfortunately some women do it too. I’ve seen a few female doctors because I’ve had really bad insomnia for 10+ years and it’s gotten so bad that I’ll practically drug myself with sleeping pills and still be completely unable to sleep for days and the doctors just tell me to take more melatonin and that it’s probably just anxiety even though I’m already taking plenty of melatonin plus other sleeping pills and I don’t have racing thoughts or anything. Something is very wrong but they won’t listen

Like it’s really not normal to be unable to sleep for 3 days straight, especially when loaded up on sleeping pills. It’s so infuriating and insulting to have everyone just say to take more melatonin or try magnesium supplements. It’s beyond that point. Something is seriously wrong but no one will listen to me or get me any help

Literallyyyy I have been on BC since I was like 13 bc my periods are so bad and I had a lapse in insurance, go back to gyno to get on BC again and the APRN I saw deadass sat there and slut shamed me and ridiculed me (I was in an LTR too but having sex alone was too much apparently, even w condoms) like just give me the script and STFU

I’m waiting for a doctor to finally take me seriously about my blood pressure issues I’ve been having recently and I’m hoping it’s before I have a serious medical emergency. The other night I woke up at 2 AM and had the spins as if I’d been taking whiskey shots all night… I don’t drink. The day before my work sent me home early for nearly passing out and being overall gross looking. That shit is not normal!!! But apparently there’s “nothing wrong” w me lolz

I have SVT and they ignored the symptoms for 5 years and then gave me a prescription anxiety medication that makes SVT worse after I had multiple ekgs and tests done that clearly showed it and then I actually got diagnosed and they still prescribed it to me for another year 😭

They called my POTS athletic induced asthma. An inhaler did nothing for me. I was practically bedridden for 3 months and lost an unhealthy amount of weight until my mom figured it out.
