if you are not hauling a trailer, construction materials, or 4+ kids who all do sports YOU DO NOT NEED A GIGANTIC TRUCK OR SUV. i’m tired of these suburbanites driving monster cars down one ways and cutting me off in roundabouts

the american culture of humongous vehicles has gotten ridiculous. a 2025 “midsized” suv is so much bigger than my 2012 midsized suv and i cannot comprehend why we need such big vehicles

Correct. I drive my bf’s truck sometimes and yeah, the whole reason we have it is because he grew up on a ranch and it was for things like moving materials around and towing things. Mind you it’s not a huge truck, a 1980’s f-150 with an extended bed, and we still use it for stuff around our property like building materials and such.

i hate lifted trucks with my entire being… although i would drive a cadillac escalade just by myself if i could afford it.

I honestly don’t get the point of em. If you want more space for your family, get a good wagon.

YES! My family had a Volvo 850R when I was a kid and it was perfect for that.

my bf’s friend has a lifted truck with the damn purple LED lights underneath and i just know people roll their eyes seeing him pull into downtown (all one ways). a damn menace to society that shouldn’t be allowed on the road

see i feel like equestrians also get a pass because you will need to haul shit. horse equipment is big as hell. also if people have like mountains bikes, boats, jet skis, etc i understand having larger cars

Yeah here’s the truck in question. As in, it was a family farm/ranch vehicle he got as his first ride at 16 and still sees use for legitimate truck stuff to this day. Especially since where we live is waaay up in the mountains whenever we want to go camping or for a longer trip we’ll put the cab cover on it and use it. It’s also not insanely oversized either.

It’s just a proper work truck. Not our daily driver either, but really, really useful.

OKAY I LOVE IT, my grandpa had one similar and i think that size truck is perfect. big enough to put stuff in the bed and not be cramped in the cab (obviously a 4 door will be bigger but i digress). also strong enough to hook stuff up to pull AND aesthetically pleasing to look at. chef’s kiss lets bring them back

Yeah aesthetically it’s in great shape. Obviously not all internal parts are original, it’s about 40 years old, but it still performs well. As a car gal I absolutely love it.
