My parents are on the somewhat younger side so they’re fully aware this doesn’t work anymore lol, but I’ve definitely had my fair share of older family members believing that dropping a paper resume off at a giant corporation is what will get the job done

my grandfather is full aware of the online sector of applying for jobs, but informed me that it’s important to match a face to my resume & that it’s admirable to go in person & hand a hard copy, introduce myself & show the effort that i really want the job. i have never NOT gotten a single job i wanted after doing that

Everywhere I’m applying is independently owned or managed, so I can’t even use that in my explanation of why that method won’t work 😭 But yes, parents, grandparents, even family friends keep recommending I do that smh
