i get this, i think the queer community just gets exhausted of ppl not taking steps to educate themselves (there are plenty of resources on the internet) and not all of them have the bandwidth to personally be the educator. i get that it’s frustrating when you genuinely mean well though. def recommend befriending queer ppl irl and asking them things, when strangers on the internet say smth ignorant it’s always tough to know if they are “one of the good ones” and genuinely trying to learn or not
yes i know this is girl talk but if i post this in lgbt ill get reported lmao. like idk. i try to learn, and i am accepting of everyone, but if we don’t let people ask questions and learn, how tf are people supposed to be allys. and then they complain about allys at pride like jesus fucking christ 😭
yea that makes sense. i didnt make it clear but i am queer haha. i just get frustrated when someone asks an innocent question like “is it appropriate to ask someone their pronouns in this environment” and some queer people just swarm them with hate. imo it paints us in a bad light. like it’s a very all or nothing way of thinking with a lot of people. idk. i get what you’re saying tho
oh that i definitely agree with. i thought you meant more like people asking questions that could easily be misconstrued as being homophobic/transphobic. like idk asking about trans people in sports when that’s a topic that’s been talked about at length everywhere and is really easy to educate yourself on
