Does your character have to do the morally correct thing all the time? The best character is dynamic - their values can’t be perfect. She may find comfort in someone who she thinks loves her, who shows her the warmth that her abuser lacks. And she can feel guilty, and in the Wrong, which creates a rounded version of a character rather than a flat Morally Perfect Main Character

I mean personally I don't see a problem with it because the abuser automatically breaks the sanctity of the relationship via the abuse and the victim doesn't owe them shit, including loyalty But those are just my thought and I want to know your guys'

Is it wrong? Maybe. Is it realistic? Probably. It’s also fiction, so write whatever you want. Fiction doesn’t have to be morally correct all the time.

please don’t write a story based on what’s morally correct. the best characters have good AND bad qualities (even tho personally i don’t think there’s anything bad about cheating on an abuser). if it makes sense for your character, do it!

Okay I mean still not really is okay but at that point I wouldn’t be emotionally invested anymore with them so I would or entertain the idea🤷‍♀️

i would say it’s pretty mixed, people tend to be pretty divided on that, but it can be used to add depth to a character, danger and tension to a story, or could be an escape story
