Dows anyone have any experience with IUD’s? I’ve been on the lowest combo pill available but it’s done nothing but make me a miserable person slowly over the years and I can’t keep doing this. My biggest concern is weight gain and muscle loss.

I have a copper iud which is hormone free basically. There haven’t been any physical changes like weight gain or muscle loss. However I will say it has made my cramps worse and my flow heavier when on my period. Other than that I don’t notice it at all and honestly I love it. It also isn’t guaranteed to mess with your flow like mine has. But it’s probably the best iud option for you if you want something that doesn’t have hormones

I have a hormonal IUD, no weight gain, muscle loss, or appetite changes. It hurt like a mf to put in but I’ve had it for 8 months and don’t even think about it now

I have had my period like 2x since and it’s been a lot lighter but more cramps. Overall I recommend!

My mom has had a copper one for a while and it stopped her cycle. I have always been someone that was able to ignore that fact I was even on my period most of the time. I only had bad back pain for a few days before getting it which is why I got on the pill.

Do you notice anything with like your personality. I’ve become so short tempered, anxiety ridden, extreme mood swings, and significant brain fog slowly over the years of being on the pill and I’m about to start grad school and can’t be having mental breakdowns at every minor inconvenience

Ummm I don’t think any of that is new or due to my IUD, I’ve never really thought about it, but I’ve always been a super anxious person even before I got the IUD so I don’t think so
