PLEASE report your school to the board if this is happening. This is quite literally illegal in public schools.
to be clear i mean it being taught in mainly public schools with the expectation of the kids being forced into religion. being forced to read the 10 commandments, etc etc. that is not right.

Unfortunately I think some southern states (potentially Alabama) have not only legalized, but also mandated the Ten Commandments be in schools :/ idk if that’s the case for OP but it’s horrible

in hs my school board was super conservative so they just kinda let it slide. i remember being told the concerned students were ‘overreacting’ so many times whenever they brought up concerns, and nobody ever advanced it to any sort of lawsuit or anything so i think some teachers are still pushing the 10 commandments and stuff onto kids. i lived in a blue state too which was even more shocking!

So I did find that but it’s still unconstitutional 😭 the states are going to be brought before the Supreme Court bcos they’re literally not allowed to mandate that, it goes against the first amendment. The Supreme Court forced Kentucky to stop doing this exact thing in the 80s

But if ur in one of those states, then idfk what you can do about it other than support your state congress people who are running against it. If ur a millionaire you could try suing the state 🙂‍↕️

Did you take it to your local school board only or did you advance it to the state department of public education? I can see the local board not giving a fuck but the state board absolutely should (excluding the batshit crazy states I’m discussing w #1)

i know that a few students and parents took it to the local school board and they got shrugged off. last i heard someone’s dad who was a lawyer was bringing it to the state department of education but that was a few years ago and i haven’t heard anything since.. my town was a very very conservative town in an otherwise liberal state and all the crazies just seemed to gravitate there 😭
