x^2 + 3x + C i wouldn’t have known this but some underclassmen recently roasted me because i forgot how to take a derivative (haven’t taken calc since high school), so i relearned it 😭😭

x2 + 3x + C,CE R looks weird being pasted from my calculator but I believe that’s it

… i never did antiderivatives in calc 😭 just regular ones have no idea where the c came from. all i know is if it was plain derivative it would be 2

(for the record i don’t have an issue with using a calculator but it’s a pop quiz!!! no cheating!!)

(genuinely didn’t learn long division until senior year of high school in stats, trig, and calculus classes)

Genuinely was not ever an issue until I hit dividing complex polynomials by complex polynomials

no literally i was at a PARTY and they asked me a calculus question. me being tipsy was already working against me, i was like what’s an integral again?? and then i taught myself the next day

off topic asf (but also on?) that deals with my area of study: there is a phenomenon where some people learn certain skills while drunk and can better do them drunk than sober, so it’s good you first learned when sober to not be inclined to drink 😂

that is actually so fascinating hahaha luckily i just used being drunk as an excuse for my incompetence 🙂‍↕️ it’s funny because i’m in computer science so people expect me to be able to do basic math, but i actually cannot

I accidentally started learning Spanish better while drunk and then started wondering to myself “why do I feel like drinking a four loko” when I spoke to people in Spanish sober 😭😂

I am not only Pavlov’s dog, I am Pavlov’s BITCH. It’s one of the best ways I can manipulate myself into doing what I need to; just didn’t expect it to affect me in that area.

it just means if you take the derivative of the result, you will get the original expression. the c represents an arbitrary constant since those go away when you take the derivative
