I did. The best advice I got was this: transfer because of the positives where you want to go, not because of the negatives where you are. Negatives will follow you That doesn’t mean that you can’t think about transferring bc of the negatives, but the decision should ultimately be made on the positives. Eg I hate how small this school is vs I love how big that school is. I hate my major vs I’m so excited for my new major. I have no friends here vs I’m excited for the active student body there.
Oh my god, it feels the opposite though 😭 there are so many positives where I am, but my parents feel like I need easier classes and shouldn’t be on probation all the time, so I’m trading a great location and support, for a worse location with easier classes- I don’t even have a specific academic positive for where I might be going
Yeahhhh prob shouldn’t transfer then. Remember, college is for the education, networking, and experience, not just the degree. Have you talked with professors or your academic advisor about strategies or support to succeed? Or maybe a leave of absence to get yourself in a better position to succeed?
They basically said that probably going to a college with less rigorous classes would help? Or at least being able to sure up that foundation elsewhere… it’s just the grades and material that suck, and I can’t really just start over, and it’s not like my parents are making any of this easier-
