okay, i’ll try to keep it brief (there’s a boston globe article that goes into detail, every paragraph is absolute insanity) but there’s a covid conscious lesbian bar in greenfield ma that required anyone in there to wear kn95 masks, since the bar was making no money, leaving the sole owner (they were in a polycule with the other owners who eventually backed out to join clown school) decided to lift the mandate on saturdays, and in an outrage they are now being called an ableist eugenist

i’m not even gonna go into the whole he/him lesbian thing (i don’t understand) but yeah i’m not surprised, obviously the people most mad about this are gonna be people who don’t like to go out and drink and take out their antisocialness on everyone else

i don’t want to deny the concerns of the immunocompromised, but the pandemic did kind of make a lot of people a bit hypochondria. also they weren’t drinking which is why the bar was making no money in the first place. there was a cover but they made that optional as well (because enforcing it would be classist ofc) like sadly, a bar is a business, not a community center that is given govt. funding/donation, the only way it can survive is by actually making a profit.

if you don’t have a boston globe subscription, there’s a twitter user @portraitinflesh who screenshotted everything so you don’t have to pay, it’s a fun read
