If you weren’t dating, you don’t really have a claim to him. This is something to work past without making her feel bad about it.

We have talked about it and she basically told me that feelings developed, and she couldn't control it, she sorry but like she chose to put herself in that situation

That’s an aspect of high school girl code because of the forced proximity. Adults don’t really care unless it’s an actual ex. You fooled around with someone, it didn’t go anywhere. Don’t let that history sour their story. You don’t have to invite him along to things, but let their story play out. It will be healthier for everyone.
