As AI induced psychosis becomes more and more prevalent it actually scares me. My mom and aunt have already ‘diagnosed’ several family members with autism adhd etc, and only trust gpt for medicaladvice. This may be the downfall of gen x/older millennials

Downfall of gen z too. No one researches they just expect the answer on gpt to be correct

I read a story of a guy who had chat got agree abt the matrix theory and like intrust the guy to not talk to anyone else abt it. It’s so deeply infuriating to me that we release new tech without understanding at all how humans interact with it and possible side effects. We all shoulda had an AI crash course for how to interact with it

my sister is completely estranged from our entire family, because she let chatgpt get so deep into confirming so many biases that she’s convinced every single one of us has jointly and severally emotionally abused her :(

Omg no?? I’ve heard of so many other stories though. But it’s to the point where they won’t even listen to what the doctor says about tests and stuff. They’ll run their blood work and labs through it. I haven’t gotten a real text from my aunt in months it’s all “Theo” as she calls her ai. They’re also using it for religious interpretations as well to understand the “truth”

Yes the “major world changing” knowledge/discovery’s is another big thing I’ve seen in AI use. Read a Reddit post of a sw engineer who quit their job bc they discovered some life changing physics and they need to study it. Physicists have fact checked it and it’s very blatantly wrong. It was the wife who made the post and she said it’s pretty much destroyed their relationship and are now without income because he quit.

This is true, I feel like I have a gap of friends who are either completely against it and rarely use it and others who use it for EVERYTHING. I work in software so the vast majority of people I know are against it and are huge into internet security what you use the internet and AI for. So I guess I haven’t seen it as much in our age bracket. But personally ive noticed it the most with gen x/millennials.

I have chronic migraines that were untreated my entire life and I would check my math hwk with gpt last semester when I could barely think through the pain, and that bitch literally cannot do the quadratic equation
