I will 100% make fun of you if you use chatgpt for literally anything. Wasting so much water and energy and for what?

Not to mention the whole point of studying and learning new things (your basic “pointless” classes) is to form new connections in your brain so you can continue learning, not so you can be an expert in algebra or writing essays or whatever. Genuine learning and critical thinking also reduces your risk of dementia down the line.

It helps make me flashcards. Lots of premed students use it to save time studying.

I mean I’m not gonna make fun of you but I will be mean bc you’re using the stolen art from hundreds of thousands of artists to make your dumb fuck images or stories or c.ai bots or ai song covers etc. gen ai is for bum ass losers without and creativity, skill, or passion. Also the environment or wtv blah blah blah

can you cite any actual numbers or compare it to the water and energy usage of anything else? of course not, because you are falling for a manufactured tiktok outrage campaign

No worries! There were about a hundred other research papers and articles saying the same thing if they want anymore proof

yeah these are ALL of the datacenters in the world, which power chatgpt but also google search, yikyak, instagram, canvas, and literally every website you use (including, yes, the tiktok algorithm that made you believe this stuff) also power/electricity usage != total energy usage. other sectors like agriculture and mining use far more energy

Girl stop defending GPT and go complain to your little computer buddy

here's the total US energy usage in 2023. 5341 MW for data centers equals 159 trillion Btu per year, or about 0.159 quadrillion Btu. this accounts for about 0.2% of annual us energy consumption, or even less if you consider we’re comparing world datacenters to us energy consumption. and remember, this includes *all* data centers, not just ai ones.

I would be far too nervous about it fucking up to risk my degree for that tbh. Plus Quizlet is free, made by humans (for the most part) and never failed me

Guys, you’re misunderstanding me. For example, all I do is plug in my notes and /or learning objectives and ask it to make me flashcards based on those objectives. It just makes the flashcards based on the information you feed it.

No I used quizlet to present the flashcards, all ChatGPT does is make the flashcards from information I feed it, it saves time actually making them. 🤦‍♀️y’all are taking this out of context

What information were you putting in? Like what form?

But here’s what I’m saying, that’s what tests and quizzes are for, to make sure we are learning accurately. I get about 60 pages per chapter and multiple chapters a week I have to learn. That dense amount of information has to be weeded through to learn what is most important. If I didn’t believe it was accurate and honest, I wouldn’t do it. I hate cheating, I want to learn it so someday I can help people genuinely to the best of my ability.

Ok ykw good for you two, keep using whatever you want to use. I’m still going to make fun of you for it, but this post was supposed to be funny but not an argument. Peace out ✌🏻
