well a lot of this actually seems like nurture. men being the ones with more status and stability is a result of the patriarchy and capitalism, and it makes sense that we’d value those things when we were taught our whole lives to value them from a man. same with what men are taught to value about women, which is mainly appearance and youth
definitely agree with nurture! another way you can look at this is that men naturally tend to be given status and stability by default, so they aren’t motivated to seek them out since it’s not usually a thing they have to earn. they can redirect their desires into more superficial things. i.e. their privilege allows them to be more picky
